Present perfect continuous tense describes an activity that began earlier and continues now, or has just stopped with a visible result.

Pattern: subject + have/has + been + verb-ing
Continuing: She has been gardening for two hours.
Recent evidence: He is tired because he has been exercising.

The core pattern

Common misconceptions

Keep been: say “has been working,” not “has working.”
Use the -ing form after been, not a past participle.
Since names the starting point; for names the amount of time.
Use present perfect continuous for duration or ongoing activity, not a single finished event.
